They can access account information online and even receive account alerts via email, text messaging and automated outbound phone calls to let them know how much they are consuming and how and when they need to pay. They pay bills directly online, over the phone, auto-debited from their bank or credit card, or at over 50,000 cash payment locations nationwide (including retail storefronts such as Wal-Mart and CVS pharmacy). They also get 24/7 phone access to their account information through the SmartGridCIS IVR (including making payments in real-time while the utility call center is closed).
